Colorful Forest Friends Seek & Find Mural

Established 2024, this mural is largely inspired by local artist Rhonda Vigus and painted by Carin Kent. It is located in Erwin Park in Boonville, New York on the bathroom at the large playground end of the park. Viewers are encouraged to find the hidden critters throughout. It can be a fun learning opportunity for children just learning how to count or learning about different animals.

1. I am red all over, speckled black and not white. I am not a newspaper. What am I?

2. I like to hop around. I'm a tadpole when I'm young. I am green and I croak. I catch flies with my long tongue. What am I?

3. With four paddles I swim, but I am always home. My back is like armor, tougher than chrome. What am I?

4. I can spell, yet I use no words. My dance moves are buzzing. I may be small, but I am fierce. What am I?

5. I have no wings, yet I will fly. What am I?

6. Play me with a ball and a bat or hear me chirp in a top hat. What am I?

7. I am hopping out of here, careful I don't trip on my long ears. What am I?

8. I love fish, berries, and honey- Oh bother! These are the bare necessities, but if you leave your trash out I may not leave it be. What am I?

9. When I'm born I have white spots that disappear as I get older. The spots help me blend into my surroundings. My coat is often the same color as the trunks of the trees. What am I?

10. I am able to turn my head almost all the way around! 270 degrees to be exact. I'm quiet in flight. Whooooo am I?

11. I move without wings, between silken strings, I leave as you find, my substance behind. What am I?
